They Owe More on Their Home Than It’s Worth and They Don’t Know What to Do

Here’s a quick note to let you know how I can help you or anyone you feel comfortable introducing me to.

Seven years ago, Tom and Lisa were living the Great American Dream: Two beautiful children and a thriving business they built from scratch! They bought a beautiful home. They had a big mortgage, but they had a booming business to more than support their expenses. When they wanted to make some additional improvements, they took out an equity line.

Today Tom and Lisa’s home is what we call “upside down”: They owe more on their home than it’s worth. They were economizing, but their business suffered terribly due to the economic downturn. Making their mortgage payment on their unexpectedly reduced income was overwhelming to impossible. By helping them through a successful short sale, we spared them the pain of foreclosure AND the liability for the equity line that they would have had to pay after the foreclosure. We were able to successfully convince the bank to forgive all remaining debt and this gave the family the chance to make a new start.

P.S. Too many people who lose their homes never talked to a real estate professional. Who’s the next person you know who could benefit from talking to me?
